[EDITORIAL, BRANDING]
Vril-Ya is the imaginary country in Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s Vril, the Power of the Coming Race.
In this project, we developed the identity of this nation through a booklet in which we described its inhabitants, language and customs. We also created a flag, three posters and five pictograms from these same descriptions expressed in the text. The image created based on black and red, colours that reflect the totalitarian regime described in the book, consists of rustic features strongly inspired by the aesthetic of Egyptian murals, the dystopia of George Orwell’s work and movie posters such as Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo (designed by Saul Bass).
